Columbia College Chicago’s Scientists for Tomorrow initiative and Northeastern Illinois University’s TRiO Upward Bound Math and Science program will host their annual STEAM Conference on May 14, 2016 at Northeastern Illinois University campus, located on 5500 N. St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625 at 10:00am.
As a collaborative initiative between Columbia College Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University partnered with community based organizations; families and students; the annual STEAM Conference provides a space to further engage with STEAM education: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Architecture/Agriculture and Mathematics. A key feature of the conference is that the presenters are middle school and high school students that participate in pre-college academic programs, Scientist for Tomorrow Initiatives and Pathways Initiatives. Launched in 2010, participation in the yearly conference has grown steadily to include nearly one-thousand students from a variety of communities throughout the city of Chicago.
