The 6th annual STEAM Conference offered by Columbia College Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University, is looking for youth presenters to host their very own workshop on May 14, 2016. Schools and community centers that have teen programs can become presenters and lead a workshop fostering Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Architecture and Mathematics (STEAM) related activities.
The goal of the workshop is to promote participants to engage in STEAM related disciplines through hand-on learning experience, and inspire them to pursue a career in STEM.
The presentation should begin with a brief introduction of the teens talking about their school/grade and program to an audience of 20 participants. I encourage participants to do a power point presentation and to practice a month before the conference. The workshop sessions will be from (11:00 am – 12:05 pm & 1:05 pm – 2:10 pm). All schools/centers must commit to both times.
Youth presenters can be split for the workshops (morning team and afternoon team), so they have the chance to visit other sessions.
